I hope you’re all well!! I’m back with another review for you all today! As many of you may already know, I am a bit of a foundation Junkie – and as a result, have tried quite a lot of both drugstore and high-end foundations. I’ve found that recently (probably in the last year or so) my skin type has changed, and is typically more oily. I’m not sure why it’s changed, and it hasn’t effected my make-up routine as of yet, it’s just made me a little more hesitant to wear heavier foundations.
If you follow the beauty world, you’ll probably already have heard many things about the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I had heard lots of positive things about it being a great foundation, particularly good for making the skin look more dewy and healthy. In my opinion, this foundation has just the right amount of dewiness – it makes your skin look nice and healthy, without looking like you are covered in a fine mist of sweat – believe me, I’ve been there.
I was also conscious of picking a foundation that would last, and feel light on the skin. Having used the Nars Sheer Glow foundation for the last eight weeks or so, I often found that by 4 or 5pm, I would be wishing I could just take all the make-up off my face!! I tried using powder in my oil prone areas, and even opted for primer to provide a barrier for my skin, but I just felt the foundation was far too heavy and cakey for me. I loved the look, coverage, and finish, but unfortunately, not how it felt on my skin. So I was really pleasantly surprised at how light the Luminous Silk foundation felt on my skin – some days I even felt like I was not wearing anything!!
The lady who matched my skin to the foundation literally removed every scrap of make-up and the shade 3.5 matched perfectly! I find it quite difficult to get a perfect match in some foundations, but was really pleased with this match as it means I can wear it alone without looking odd!
So, overall, I would say this has been one of my best beauty purchases in a LONG time! It is slightly pricier than most foundations at around £35.50, but I personally believe it is well worth the money, particularly if you are struggling with oily skin as it is completely oil free and water based, meaning the foundation is light and breathable for your skin. I’d say the coverage is more light/medium, but it is definitely buildable. Personally, I think this foundation is perfect for everyday wear, and even for a more natural make-up look.
Props to Giorgio Armani – one of my new favourite foundations!!
Take care,
A x
