Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream: worth the hype?

In short, yes. Absolutely, irrevocably, undeniably yes!

I've never particularly been one to buy into make-up brands that delve into skincare. Maybe it's a little old-fashioned of me, but I always seem to put more trust and faith into brands solely dedicated to skincare. This cream is no new news to the beauty world, it's caused an absolute frenzy on-line, and I've had my eyes on this for so long.

Thanks to a nifty little Christmas gift from my sister, I got my hands on this little pot of goodness, in December. Here's what I thought...

For starters, you may be thinking, what actually is it? Well, the formula is supposed to have been used by Charlotte, a.k.a the QUEEN of make-up, for years backstage. It's essentially an anti-ageing moisturiser, but can be used to add radiance, liven up your complexion, and re-plump the skin. I'm a big fan of dewy looking skin, and this is so perfect for that. The anti-ageing qualities don't bother me too much - I don't necessarily need those qualities, but it doesn't stop me from choosing anti-ageing moisturisers. As long as they work, I'm happy!

I prefer to apply it overnight rather than before make-up as the moisturiser is quite heavy. My skin type is combination, and can get quite oily, so this really didn't work well on my skin when I applied it before my foundation (a slithery face springs to mind). 

I wouldn't say I'm 100% ready to throw out every other face moisturiser I use - but what I definitely love about this is just how much of a difference you can see in the appearance of your skin, almost straight away. My skin looks so much more radiant and 'glowy', but in terms of treating any blemish prone areas, this cream isn't quite enough for my skin, which is fine, because it's not designed for that.

This is definitely one for dry, or normal skin types - as the texture is quite thick and and  deliciously luxurious! But, for oilier skin it could potentially be a little too heavy... I would love this even more if they released a lighter version for oilier skin types, that would just make it even more perfect!
