It's a hair thing: 5 products I can't live without

From the infamous Jennifer Aniston bob, to the classic Kim Kardashian centre-parting and waves, I've always had a thing about hair. Maybe it's because I've always hated my fine hair, and annoyingly wispy hairline, but for as long as I can remember, I've always been so particular about it. Full, thick, and bouncy hair has always been a dream of mine, and as a result, I think I've had a fair go at trying out pretty much most of the hair products out there.

As with most products, certain hair products can work better for different hair types and preferences, so I thought it best to give you the down low on my hair, so that you can see if any of these might be for you! My hair is fine, but everyone tells me I have a lot of it. So ideal, right? It never really grows past my ribs, and I can't really do much with it. It's not overly dry, nor is it overly shiny, but my ends aren't the healthiest. So, I would say that I mainly look for hair products that add volume, and will nourish my ends without weighing down, or making my roots look greasy.

Without further a-do, here are some products that I know and love:

Big Sexy Hair Volume Mousse

I don't particularly like hair mousses, but out of all the Volume products I've used, I'd say this mousse works the best. It doesn't have the best texture, but once blow-dried into damp hair, this leaves my roots looking fuller, and much thicker. I find volume sprays don't seem to have the same effect as a mousse, but I much prefer how a spray feels virtually undetectable in the hair.

Kérastase Nectar Thermique

This little gem is absolutely loved by the press, and quite rightly so. I've used all of the Thermique variations from Kérastase, but this one by far has the best effect. It's essentially a blow-dry leave-in cream. I apply a generous helping of this to the lengths and ends of my hair when damp, and then blow-dry my hair. I can honestly say that this makes the torturous blow-dry process much shorter, and  almost seals any split ends. I love it.

MATRIX Supreme Oil

This is a more recent love of mine. My mum had one of these at home, and I used it one night, and was blown away, and picked up one of my own. It's a hair oil, which I have avoided using for years as they can sometimes be too heavy for my hair type, but this works perfectly when blow-dried into damp hair. It smoothes my ends, and leaves them looking so much shinier, and more manageable.

Shu Uemura Art of Hair Color Lustre Shampoo

My current shampoo - it's sulphate-free, gentle, and smells incredible. I'm really enjoying using this, and I find it does help keep my ombre looking good!

Shu Uemura Art of Hair Color Lustre Shampoo & Full Shimmer Masque

This full shimmer masque I've been using most recently. I'm quite bad in that I often use masques as a conditioner, just because I haven't really had the time to treat myself to a long bath with a hair masque in a while. This one is lovely, it really does leave the ends of my hair looking shiny and smooth.

What are your haircare essentials? I'd love to know!
